Tembo Tusk Skottle Grill Kit

We’re trying something new here at Cerullo. We are an aftermarket seat manufacturer, so our specialty is seats. We do have other products we sell that we don’t custom make like 60” lap belts, and nylon seat protectors. Recently, we discovered a very cool product made by Tembo Tusk that we think could be a very useful product for our customer base. It’s the Skottle outdoor grill. This thing is so great to have with you when you go to a car meet up or when you’re posted up next to your show car or truck at a Goodguys Car Show.

We do the LA Roadster Show almost every year and out of state Goodguys shows here and there. The biggest obstacle with hanging out at a car show all day is that you’re limited to eating the carnival food that is super unhealthy and over priced. Plus, it’s never any good. Now, with the Tembo Tusk Skottle, you can cook your own taco meat, make burgers or heat up fried rice right in your booth space. Set up is easy with a small propane bottle, the cast iron disk and adjustable legs that fold up and stores up simple in it’s own bag. Plus, the smell is going to attract people to your space!

Anyway, the bottom like is that we are are lucky to be able to offer this to our customers. The overland community is going crazy over this new way of cooking outdoors and we think the hot rod and muscle car industry is going to love it too. Give us a call to order one. Options are on our website.

1999 Chevy Camaro Convertible Front Seats and Rear Seat

The latest project we worked on was for a 99 Camaro Convertible. The customer chose tan SCs with the green and tan weave insert. The green and tan weave isn’t popular among our customers but its going to work in this car. The green will compliment the forest green paint on the outside well. You’ll notice on the photo below that we added a loop on a snap to hold the seat belt in place. We don’t always recommend this because I can’t guarantee the strength of the vinyl vs. how hard a driver or passenger is going to pull on these straps. They are small, not delicate, but not made for pulling hard. The customer acknowledged my concern and we agreed to add strong leather to the inside to add a little more strength. The straps will definitely be useful.

We also got the chance to recover his rear seat to match the front. The foam was in great condition so making a pattern off of his original covers was simple. Check it out.

Just a Console Cover (100 Series Land Cruiser)

Ok, so I’ve had so much interest in the Land Cruiser slip on seat covers, just in the last few months. We’re so grateful for that. We’ve also had a lot of customers asking about the console lid cover. We finally made a pattern for it and it turns out that the install was very easy. This console cover is a great little upgrade to a tired interior, especially if you have your seats reupholstered or if you have a set of our slip on covers. Check out the finished product and the easy install.

FYI, the plastic lid insert is pressure fit. Carefully pry it out of the lid, without breaking it, to reveal the staples for the old cover.

This item is $45 in Katzkin vinyl.

1968 Mustang Coupe

Another Mustang project came across our board last month. Mike K. called us about his 68 Mustang Coupe. He too picked the Classic Bucket Seat but chose not to put headrests on it to keep it as original as possible. These seats were designed without a headrest, but it’s an option we’re happy to offer. These Classics were made in Med Red vinyl with Black vinyl inserts. This is an unusual combo with the black being on the inside, but it turned out awesome.

Mike also sent us his rear seat and we got to cover the rear with the same Classic pattern. Thanks Mike for the photos.

1969 Mustang Seats

We were lucky to get a call from Caroyln and her husband from TN in May regarding new bucket seats for their 69 Mustang Fastback. They’re main concern was comfort and color. Turned out that we were working on another set of seats for a customer with a 65 Mustang that had already gone through picking colors and our Med Red vinyl was the perfect match. They gave us their trust and pulled the trigger on an order of 2 Classic Bucket Seats in the Med Red and added low profile headrests.

Another common concern when putting new seats in the 65-70 Mustangs is the height of the seat. The seats really need to fit as low to the floor as possible. With Cerullo bucket seats, you don’t need an additional mounting bracket to adapt our sliders to your floor board (for 65-70 Mustangs only). We’re able to use a seat bottom configuration that allows you to mount the seat directly to the floor with no bracket. Only the 1” slider is between the floor and the seat itself. This is such a great option to give you the most space possible and for ease of installing. Check it out!

1957 Chevy Bel Air Bench Seat Mod

Last week our customer Frank dropped off his Glide bench seat frame #SP-45 for his 57 Bel Air. He had already had it upholstered along with his original rear seat by another upholsterer in Northern California. Unfortunately, he was unhappy with the job his upholsterer did. There was exposed hinge hardware on both sides that the guy painted to match the vinyl and the overall style just didn’t sit well with our customer. Traditionally, this type of bench seat has a flat seat bottom but Frank wanted something more contoured that made the seat feel like you were sitting in a buckets. He saw our El Camino bench seat and wanted the same type of shape with the built up side bolster and the hump under the arm rest.

We took the cover off, completely replaced the foam and modified it according to his requests. We made new patterns and upholstered both the front and rear seat in Katzkin Bone vinyl. I think this seat turned out pretty cool. This is a little different than what is standard for this kind of classic car with Frank’s personal touch and it’s uniqueness will give Frank a little more pride than he already has while driving it. We’re so grateful to have been a part of it.

SC Sport Seats for 1996 Ford Bronco

“The tan seats I saw on your website” was all she needed to say when our customer Brooke ordered her SC Sport Seats for her Bronco. She loved the color and material combo of a seat she saw on our website so much, she had to have us make her a set. These were made with Doeskin vinyl with Oatmeal tweed inserts. She also ordered mounting brackets from us that allowed her to bolt her seats right into the existing holes in the floor.

This is such a soothing neutral color combo and the contrast of the materials make it interesting to look at and give it a luxurious feel.

Aftermarket Seats for Volkswagen

Check out one of our favorite customers Sewfine Interiors https://sewfineproducts.com .

Sewfine interiors provides custom, made-to-order interior kits for Volkswagen’s. We know it’s going to be a fun job when we receive an order from Logan or Carol at Sewfine. They typically send us their own material for us to make covers and upholster either the SC Sport Seat or the Classic Bucket Seat with adapters that match up to model specific mounting brackets also provided by Sewfine to their customers. Their orders are refreshing because their projects often us unusual and creative colors and designs.

This week we made a set of SCs in Sewfine’s black vinyl with charcoal tweed inserts and yellow thread on the double stitch. These seats turned out cool and we wanted to show them off. So here you go!
